- A photo copy of your valid Oklahoma driver’s license (if you have one)
- Two 5X7 head and shoulder color photographs in western attire (including cowboy hat).
- $45.00Queen/$35.00Princess entry fee made payable to SRUC (1 Money order or cash - no personal check)
- $20.00 membership fee made payable to SRUC (1 Money order or cash - no personal check)
- Two typed bios about yourself not over 150 words
Please put all of these together in a manila envelope and mail them all at one time, unless prior arrangements have been made. Must be postmarked by August 1, 2008 NO EXCEPTIONS.
The enclosed liability waiver document must be completed and returned with this application in order to compete. Be familiar with the SRUC rulebook and make sure you meet all eligibility requirements listed in it. If you have any questions, contact the SRUC Pageant Director. Photos will not be returned.

Liability Release
I, the undersigned, hereby agree for myself and my heirs to fully and forever release and discharge The Skiatook roundup Club and it's Board Members thereof from any claims, demands, damages, rights of action of or causes of damage or loss on account of any injuries or damages, or otherwise of every kind and character to me or to other persons or property resulting from or which may result either directly or indirectly from the participation and use of the facilities or equipment of SRUC or its owners, operators, directors or employees. I hereby agree that I am using these facilities at my own risk and I assume full responsibility for such use and for any result thereof. In addition I/We agree to assume all responsibility and risk from participation in these equine activities. I fully understand that horseback riding is a risk sport and engage in the sport at my own risk. I shall abide by all the rules of SRUC and SRUC Pageant now in effect or later adopted. And I further agree to hold Skiatook Roundup Club and its owners, employees, trainers and SRUC and its directors free and harmless from all damages or liability for and injury to person, horse or property rising as a result from this participation including attorney and court costs.

Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in applying for 2009; Miss Skiatook Roundup Club Queen and Princess. When this time of year rolls around for the queen and princess pageant and we are very excited as the date for our competition draws near!
Please find enclosed the Skiatook Roundup Club Application, Release of Liability, and the Official Pageant Rules and Regulations of the Skiatook Roundup Club Queen Committee.
All participating in the Skiatook Roundup Club Queen and Princess Pageant are required to attend the orientation.
All contestants will be required to appear Friday and Saturday night during the Grand Entry of the rodeo and attend the parade on their horses. Contestants are also required to sell 10 BBQ and 10 Rodeo Tickets, all ticket must be sold.
We run a very successful pageant and take pride in the work we do please read and follow all rules.

WHO IS THE SKIATOOK ROUNDUP CLUB QUEEN AND PRINCESS
SRUC Queen and Princess is a young lady who strives to promote the Sport of Professional Rodeo, and in doing so, promote the great western way of life. SRUC Queen/Princess will be talented, personable horsewomen with the vast knowledge of the sport of rodeo, the equine industry, and the State of Oklahoma. She is a young lady who enjoys travel and has a sincere interest in educational experiences, which will assist in laying a solid foundation for her future.
MISS SRUC Queen/Princess Eligibility Requirements
The Miss Sruc Pageant committee and officers will operate the pageant under these guidelines and bylaws set forth by the club. The Pageant committee has the authority to make provisions and waive eligibility, rules and or regulations requirements with the approval of the Committee.
Contestants shall agree to abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the Miss SRUC Pageant Committee and Officers. Breaking of any rules and regulation will be automatic disqualification of contestant from competition.
Eligibility
1. Each Queen Contestant must be between the ages of 14-25 as of Jan. 1st of year of competition.
2. Each Princess Contestant must be between the ages of 7-13 as of Jan. 1st of year of competition.
3. Contestants must be a legal resident of the state of Oklahoma 12 months prior to the Pageant, and must live with in 50 miles of Skiatook, Ok
4. Contestant must be single and never married.
5. Contestant must not have any children.
6. Contestant must not hold or have held a National Title for the category they are competing in.
7. Contestant must not hold or have held the Cavalcade Title.
8. Contestant shall wave liability.
9. Contestant must agree to abide by pageant rules with the possibility of disqualification for infractions.
10. When a contestant becomes MISS SRUC, she must be available to fulfill all required duties of her reign.
11. If a winning contestant becomes pregnant during her reign she must forfeit all prizes and cash over the first runner-up.
12. If a winning contestant becomes involved in any criminal act (including but not limited to illegal drug or alcohol use) not withstanding the outcome she will relinquish her title and benefits to 1st runner-up.
13. All contestants should understand that the Miss SRUC reign will Start Jan. 1st and go to Dec 31st.
14. Contestants agrees that if she would receive a title that requires her to give up all her present titles, the she will comply with the eligibility of the Miss SRUC regulations
15. Contestant understand that in the event they do not comply with the terms and conditions of the contract that they forfeit eligibility for the title and or would be required to resign the title of Miss SRUC Queen or Princess. In which event she shall so immediately resign and forfeit eligibility and or the right to said title. Upon resignation she shall forfeit and or return to the Miss SRUC Pageant all Pageant Awards, which to otherwise be entitled. In the event of her resignation whether voluntary or upon request of the pageant, I recognize the right of the pageant to select her successor, and such person so selected shall be entitled to receive such prizes, and awards and funds so determined by the SRUC Pageant Director.
Rules and Regulations
1. Constants s must conducted themselves in a lady-like manner and portray high morale standards. Contestant will not be permitted to drink alcoholic beverages, smoke or use tobacco or foul language at any time during the pageant.
2. Contestant must provide all information on entry form, and turned in by Aug. 1st
3. Contestants will provide their own horse and will only be allowed to use one horse.
4. Contestant will provide own transportations to and form the pageant.
5. Contestant must attend all events on Schedule and must were their numbers on the right side of their saddle pad.
6. Contestant must provide their own wardrobe and agree to follow the wardrobe guidelines. Please read wardrobe guidelines.
7. Queen contestants must give a 2-minute speech open topic about the sport of rodeo. Princess contestant must stand up and tell about themselves. (Name, Hometown, and Hobbies) Note cards may be used, but point could be deducted by the judges.
8. Contestants will be required to model one western dress skirt outfit. In addition, contestant will be required to answer a question sometime during the style show.
9. Contestant will have at lest one personal interview.
10. Contestant will be required to run a horsemanship pattern.
11. All contestants are required to meet at queen tent each night after grand entry for pictures and events.
12. Contestants are responsible for reading and understanding all pageant rules and regulations before entering the contest.
13. If at any time a question should arise before, during, or after the pageant those questions should only be directed to the pageant director.
14. Contestants will ride in grand entry each night and maybe asked to carry flags or set pivots.
15. Contestant will be deducted 1 point for each minute she is late.
16. Contestant must sell all tickets.
Miss SRUC Judging Guidelines
Miss SRUC Pageant is judged on a point scale. Judges are selected for their expertise in all fields of the competition. Two or Three Judges will judge all categories of the pageant all two to three scores will be added for each contestant, each time they are judged. The judging committee that is set forth by the pageant director will manage all score sheet and judges.
Ø The Contestant with the highest overall score for the competition will be crowned the Queen or the Princess. The contestant receiving the second highest grand total will receive First runner-up.
Ø Tie resulting in an event winner will be determined by referring back to horsemanship scores to break the tie. If a tie still remains we will refer back to the personal interview scores.
Ø Judges will have at least one private interview with each contestant. Pageant Director will be responsible for maintaining order and keeping succeeding contestants out of hearing range while the interviews is being conducted.
Ø Private interviews should be conducted only judges and contestants present, not exceeding 3 minutes. If needed a timer person may enter the room.
Ø Scores for the contestant will be turned in after each event.
Ø Judges should also have a packet that contains pictures and bio of each girl.

Horsemanship
1. Horsemanship to include control of mount and the way any situation the may occur in handled.
2. Balance the ability to sit in the saddle
3. Position of hands, feet and seat.
4. Mounting and Dismounting.
5. Each contestant could be interviewed.
6. Patterns there will be one go around. Patterns will be mailed with tickets. Patterns will be altered due to arena conditions. Contestants will be also required to dismount / remount, carry a flag and/or presentation ride (flag run) following completion of the pattern.
7. Dress wear for horsemanship: western blue jeans, the horsemanship shirt we provided you to wear. Must wear hat, boots, and belt. No Chaps. Spurs are allowed.
8. Faults in pageant are losing hat, losing stirrups, omitting part of horsemanship pattern. Point will be deducted.
9. During the Queens run, contestants should prepare to present the salute or the wave.
10. Roping Reins may be used, but judges might deduct points. Recommend Split Reins.
Wardrobe Guidelines
1. Contestant should study the pageant schedule that they will receive for exact times, event, and wardrobe needed.
2. Long Sleeved shirts are required at all times. No cleavage and nothing braless.
3. Contestants should use good judgment when selection of her wardrobe. Western hat, and boot must accompany all outfits. This is not a clothing contest so you can wear an outfit more than once. (Judges might count off)
4. No chaps allowed by contestants.
5. Spurs allowed.
Ticket Sales
1. Each Queen/Princess Contestant must sale 10 Rodeo tickets, 10 Dinner tickets.
2. If all 20 tickets are sold the Contestant will receive 50 bonus points and free admissions to the rodeo for themselves and one other person.
3. If not all 20 tickets are sold the contestant will receive no bonus point and will be disqualification
4. Tickets are due at Origination.
Speech
Queen contestant is required to give a 2-minute speech on the following:
1. Open topic pertaining to rodeo (not queening)
2. This event will be timed. The Judges can dock point for overage or underage at their discretion
3. Contestant must wear a western style dress, cowboy boots, and cowboy hat.
4. Princess contestants are required to introduce themselves. (Name, age, Hometown, and Hobbies.)
Modeling
The modeling competition allows the judges to evaluate a contestant’s sense of style, posture, projection of self-confidence, grooming and hygiene and knowledge of current western fashion trends.
1. Contestant must wear a western style dress, cowboy boots, and cowboy hat.
2. No formal evening gown type dresses will be allowed. The dress must be western.
Interview
The purpose of interview is to allow the judges to observe the personality, intelligence, common sense, conversational ability, and maturity of each contestant.
1. The interview session will be closed to the public and all other contestants.
2. The interview may not be recorded on cassette or video type. This will lead to disqualification.
3. The judges have the right to conduct one general interview or numerous interviews (i.e. a horsemanship interview and current event/personality interview). The judges and the pageant director will predetermine the number of interviews.
4. The only people present in the interview room are: one contestant, the judges, and timer person(s) and if available an officer.
5. The interview will be timed and must not exceed 3 minutes pre contestant.
Potogenic
Each Queen and Princess contestant must submit TWO 5X7 COLOR PHOTOGRAPH HEAD AND SHOULDER SHOT of her in western attire including cowboy hat (no Crown). The picture will be used for judging the photogenic quality of the contestant, featured in the pageant program, used for promotional purpose and may be displayed at other events during pageant. Photogenic points will not go toward the over all score, but a prize is given.
1. The photo MUST be a head and shoulder bust shot.
2. The contestant must be dressed in tasteful western attire, including a cowboy hat with no crown.
3. The photo must be in color
4. The photo must be a 5x7 NO EXPECTIONS
5. The photo must not be framed or mounted
6. Failure to submit the photo with application and entry fee by the deadline will lead to disqualification of the contest.
